Late in 2006, ReSound released the ReSound Pulse. The Pulse was a refinement of the ReSound Air, that was released in 2003 and was a real innovation in the open BTE fitting arena. It basically set the standard for open BTEs. The Pulse is a refinement on the ReSound Air technology. This hearing aid is a significant improvement on the Air. It has more channels for us to adjust the frequency response for our patients and it has a very good wind noise suppression system. Additionally, the larger model that use the size 312 battery come with a rechargeable battery system.

New in 2007 is the ReSound Azure. This hearing aid is available in all sizes of custom in-the-ear hearing aids as well as the open/mini behind-the-ear size as well. This hearing aid uses the sixth generation of ReSound’s very effective anti-feedback (anti-whistle) system. ReSound has created a new class of directional amplification with these hearing aids. The Azure uses directional microphone technology in one ear and surround sound in the other ear. ReSound calls this “natural directionality”. ReSound feels that this allows the user the full benefit of directional microphone technology that reduces background noise while also allowing the user to maintain full peripheral (surround sound) awareness.
